I wrote it mostly last summer. At the least, this one is a lot better than the last one I put on here. I hope you like it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/music\/How%20I%20Stay%20Safe.mp3\">How I Stay Safe<\/a> | <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/music\/How%20I%20Stay%20Safe.txt\">lyrics<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m slowly getting better at this. I&#8217;m still trying to figure out how to get the vocals and acoustic guitar to sound like they do live &#8212; they&#8217;re still a little dead and shrill. The problem might have to do with the tiny mic I&#8217;m using (courtesy of my brother):<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/lj\/1-23-2005\/mic.jpg\"><br \/>\n(It&#8217;s clipped to a CD case.) Apparently you can get good vocal mics for some large amount of money. Eventually I&#8217;ll invest, I guess&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>One good thing is that I got to use my new baby, a Fender Five String Jazz Bass. I got it used for a great price.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/lj\/1-23-2005\/bass.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/lj\/1-23-2005\/thumbnails\/bass.jpg\" border=0><\/a><br \/>\nAnd what the heck, here&#8217;s a picture from my bedroom window today:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/lj\/1-23-2005\/outside.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cs.berkeley.edu\/~aj\/lj\/1-23-2005\/thumbnails\/outside.jpg\" border=0><\/a><br \/>\nNote the open window. It was just wonderful today &#8212; a cloudless sky, t-shirt temperature.
